The Cap Shawl #4

My new Addi Lace needles has arrived. It is so much easier to knit now. Not that my arms like it, so the progress is a little slow. Am at row 37 and have 180 stitches on the needles

Beautiful golden needles

It looks like...a cap!

Or a mushroom! But the patterns starts to show.

How many weird ways can I come up with.
I am not 100% happy with the center. It should have been more defined. Guess I should have made a few more rounds before starting the pattern.

The Cap Shawl #3

32 rows. 152 stitches on the needles. Things are slowing down now.

An alternative way of showing the progres, but it works doesn't it ;-)

Mind faster than fingers

Why is it that the minut I cast on a project I start palnning the next one?
Am I the only one?
I got this beautiful silk for my birthday. So soft and shiny. I just had to see it knitted up! Think it would be great for The Alpine Knit Scarf......

Hmmm, it might look better on 3,5 mm...

Cap Shawl Stitch Markers

Purple plastic stitch markers for a kidmohair-silk shawl! Nooooo.
So I made a set of 8. 7 blacks and one silver for the beginning of the round

The Cap Shawl #2

It sure isn't easy not to knit too much. 24 rows. 117 stitches on the needles.
Knitting on the rounds has cons and pros. No purling, but is it difficult to show the progress. It just looks like a big bubble!

The k2tog became a lot easier after I sharpened the ends of the dpns with sandpaper. The sharp one is on top. It may not look like much but it makes a big difference. My 4mm addi lace needle is 80 cm..maybe I better get a shorter one
I have installed neocounter and neoworld (in the right collum). Now I can see where in the world visitors come from. It is more accurate than clustermap. It will be fun.

3....2.....1....GO!

The Cap Shawl
Chapter One
Okey, I couldn't resist it anymore! I am weak, I know. And my arm doesn't like it. But my soul does!! Who cares about the rest!!?
So here she is, may I introduce, The Cap Shawl. Made of bourdeaux Kid Seta 70% kidmohair, 30 % silk. It doesn't get much better!
I have done 12 (!!) rows. 170 rows to go!
I have 63 stitches on the needles, in the end I will have 738!

Picture James Brown
"I feel good ...."
On she goes...

Yet another swatch

Had another go with my "900 knitting and crochet stitches". I guess mohair isn't the best yarn to show off the pattern. Knitting would be much better ....#%##&#¤%.

I have forgotten

I have forgotten to show the grapes. Perhaps this year they will end up tasting nice. I doubt it though. The green house is in the shade of the birches and the grapes just don't get enough sun. But they look great!

Next year.... hopefully this turns into loads of red, pink, white Dianthus barbatus.

A new flower in the garden. I wonder what is is called!

But this I know. Coriander. I have loads of it not only becasue of my secret pal but last yeats coriander has caused lots of coriander inbetween especially the dahlias. I just left it...next year I'll get even more I guess. But it smells nice.

The appletree look nice and healthy. Last year's cutting it back did wonders ad it seems like we'll get just the right amount of apples this year.

One more photo of this little beauty who is turning HUGE!!! And look at all those hairs! It stings! I tried eating a bit of it....quite tasteless and definately not the way to get rid of it (not that I really want to)

Pink roses and lavender. One of my favourites.

And finally, a delicate light pink fuchsia that was trying to hide between the roses.

Things I'll never knit...

Sadly it is so much easier to find thing I would never ever knit. And you get the whole lot all together at http://www.youknitwhat.blogspot.com/

Pastels, transparent. No wonder she is trying to look innocent!
Imagine if you forget to put on the white shirt......

Wow....WOW. Why????

Just in case you are jealous of 80 yo with massive oedema of the legs!

Don't laugh. Cry!!!

Ouch. Wonder why they couldn't find a model for this one!

Just what I would love to cuddle up in on a nice sunny day when the grass is green and the neighbours cramped up with laughter.

Things I would love to knit

Lovely Lacy Shawl

And of course from Victorian Lace Today, among others,

The Melon Shawl
Alpine Knif Scarf
Three Cornered Shawl
And The Cap Shawl of course
All the above pictures of VLT knits are from the VLT knit along

Incorrigible

I just had to try out my new book and my new yarn.

Cat paw lace again

After having read so much about lace knitting I realised I never really finished the scarf I knitted of the colinette yarn from my secret pal, Jennie. I never blocked it!

But now it has been blocked and it really does wonders -and gives me something to blog about!
