Anne's Garden Stole - The final result

Now that everything has settled I feel much better about the final result of Anne's Garden Stole. Maybe I have just gotten used to how it looks (slightly felted), besides, I have nothing to campare it with.

So here she is, in all of her glory

So, here she is. I guess that on these pictures it doesn't look that bad, but the stitch definition just isn't perfect. Oh well, maybe I feel better about it tomorrow. At least I got the colour right;-) though it doens't come up right on these pictures. It's petrol.

Shit!

Left the wool + dye on the stove for a second and when I returned it was boiling like crazy.

It had started to felt!

One good thing about finishing clue 1 in a hurry -I have time for finishing Anne' Garden Stole within a week or two.

I have been looking for blocking wires for ages but it just doesn't seem to be possible to get it here in Denmark. I bought these huge cobber poles for The Cap Shawl -they worked jusy fine but can only be used through large holes. Then someone told me to use welding wire! So today I went shopping at the local DIY market and bought a huge amount of it. And it works!!! Makes blocking a whole lot easier

The last pattern surprice. Leaves seemed very appropriate to all these flowers. But they take a while to knit. Anyone who again find it familiar from somewhere?

The final surprice will be which colour it ends up with -not to mention what it will look like in the end after The Big Block.

Anne's Garden Shawl -the end of the center panel

No more center panel. It's app 100 x 45 cm. I have started on the end borders but have no pictures yet. I am not quite ure for how lang I will continue pattern no. 2, but app. 30 cm. With the edging the whole thing will end up around 180 x 65 cm.

Anne's Garden Stole is growing too. I'll be fed up with flowers by the end of it!! Good thing I have something else planned too!! But not for a while.

So, here it is, the very beginning of Anne's Garden Stole. I am using 3,5 mm KnitPicks option needle and they really are very very nice. So is the yarn. The pattern.... well, still hard to see I know so you will just have to come back to see my own little mystery stole (I'm not quite sure how it is going to look)

Anne's Garden Shawl

Yesterday it was Anne's birthday (Happy birthday) and because she means a lot to me my next project is for her. As she loves her garden and has one h... of a garden the theme is quite obvious. It is going to be

"Anne's Garden Stole"

I'll use Knitpicks 100% merino lace weight wool and once it is finish I'll dye it with love and care in a colour I think she will like. The shape will be rectangular and the pattern.... well, that's a surprice :-) So you will just have to come back (and back and back) to see it evolve.

My inspiration are shawls like this and this and this and this and of course my not-secret-anymore SecretPal10 Jennie (thanks).

The yarn hasn't arrived yet (nor the needles) so...
